Is Hollis in the Woods?

Authors Note:Hollis Woods has lived in over 12 different foster homes in her life and she is only 12. She always felt like no one wanted her until she met the Reagan family.


 Hollis Woods, is a 12 year old girl, and a foster child. She has been to over 12 homes along the way. The family Hollis stayed with in the past, either hated her or didn’t want her until she found the Reagan family. The Reagan family had lost one of their sons and thought they should take a foster child up to their cabin with them for the summer.Hollis goes up to the cabin with them and ends up being adopted, but she runs away.

After, she runs away she lives with Josie. Josie is an old lady who paints and is losing her memory. Josie and Hollis go to the cabin together. There are many foster children out there that are living without a family.

Even though many people don’t get adopted, they are out there living without a family. There are about 120,000 kids adopted each year. Of the people who don’t get adopted, there are about 500,000 that are foster children. Hollis eventually got adopted, but she ran away because she thought she did something wrong. But, she got lucky and she found a friend in Josie.

After Hollis started talking to Josie, they became best friends, but Josie was losing her memory, so Hollis couldn’t stay with her. Hollis always felt like she didn’t have a family until she met Josie and the Reagan family. Hollis was very sad because she had to leave Josie, her best friend. They had a special friendship even with the big age difference.

Their age difference did not really matter to them, because a lot of people have friends that aren’t around the same age. It doesn’t matter the age or anything as long as they are nice and you trust them. Some people’s best friend could be there sister or even their brother. Family is very important to people and that’s why Hollis always wanted a family.

Throughout Hollis’ life she always wished she would the right family that made her feel special and she found them and it was the Reagan family. The Reagan family had one boy and two parents. The liked Hollis when she went up to their cabin with them and wanted to adopt her. In the end, they finally became a family. They found Hollis in the cabin with Josie and that’s when they reunited as a family.
