Title: Love Since Young Age

“Let the seventy-sixth hunger games begin!” exclaimed Katniss questionably. The seventy-sixth hunger games aren’t like the other seventy-five games; this special games turns out that it’s all the 12 districts and District 13 rebelling against The Capitol! It may not be a Hunger Games but to Katniss, Peeta, Finnick, and Gale it is even worse than many of the Games. Katniss was saved in the Quarter Quell so that way she could become the Mockingjay, the leader of the rebellions. Suzanne Collins did a really great job describing how Katniss felt throughout the entire book. I felt as if I was almost helping them rebel against The Capitol. Mockingjay was the third book in the series, but still sold over 450,000 copies in the first week! I was surprised with how many books it sold since it was the third book in the series, so people still might be reading the first or the second book. The beginning of the Mockingjay wasn’t as good as the middle and end.

Even though, the games this year weren’t like the other seventy-five, it brought an even better love triangle than the other two books. This love triangle started during the middle of Mockingjay. The triangle is between Gale, Katniss, and Peeta. This love triangle happens to relate to the book Twilight, written by Stephenie Meyer. Gale and Katniss, the best friends since very young had a special bond together, just as Jacob and Bella did in Twilight. Bella and Edward, from Twilight, love each other and would do anything to protect each other, just like Katniss and Peeta. I think in Mockingjay Gale and Katniss would be better together. Gale was protecting her with all he had and would cheer her up when he knew she was down. I have always liked Gale mostly, because they have been best friends for about 5 years, they share the same interests such as hunting, they protect each other, they can talk about anything with each other, and Gale has always loved Katniss. He has loved her and always wanted to be with her ever since they met.

Although, I feel Gale is a better choice in the love triangle for Katniss, Peeta has had a huge impact on her throughout the middle and the end. He only made an impact on her during the middle and the end because during the beginning he was being tortured by The Capitol. Katniss didn’t want her so-called fiancée to be tortured because then she would never be able to see him or worse he could die. When some of the people from District 13 went to rescue him was during the middle of the book, which is when I started to get into Mockingjay.

Peeta did have a huge impact on Katniss through the middle and the end, but not the beginning. He did not have that huge of an impact on her in the beginning because The Capitol was trying to torture him so that way Katniss wouldn’t rebel against them. Since, Peeta was being tortured Katniss didn’t see him unless he was talking on T.V. Katniss and Peeta couldn’t see, talk, or call each other. I can’t relate to not being able to see your fiancée or boyfriend, but I remember in Full House, the T.V show, that Danny couldn’t see his fiancée, Vickie, unless she was on T.V. The pain that they all went through must have been terrible. Danny missed her so much that he called off the marriage! For Peeta and Katniss, they got to see each other again! When, they finally saw each other again, is when Peeta started making an impact on Katniss.

Therefore, Peeta didn’t make a huge impact on Katniss during the beginning of the book, but that’s not just the only reason I didn’t like the beginning. I didn’t like the beginning because I found it confused when Katniss was in the hospital. Also, I was mad because Gale rarely visited her when she was in the hospital and needed a friend to rely on. In the beginning, they were forcing her to be Mockingjay, when she still didn’t know what she wanted to do. Katniss thought she could die from that and I agree with her because if you are going to rebel against the Capitol, you feel like you would die. I feel that way because of how powerful The Capitol is. I truly believe the middle and ending of Mockingjay were better than the beginning.
