Authors Note: What if you lived in a place that still had slavery or not even freedom? Freedom and abolishing slavery could be two of the biggest things in a persons life.
Freedom means the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without obstruction or restraint. It could be a once in a lifetime chance. For me, I have had freedom my whole life because of the brave soldiers out there fighting and risking their lives for us. I am so proud of all of the soldiers. I am really grateful to have soldiers fighting to keep our country’s freedom. Without this I don’t know where I would be right now so I am beyond proud of my country.
I am proud of my country for many reasons but two of my main reasons are freedom and abolishing slavery. If the United States had never fought in The Civil War, there would still be slavery here! If there was still slavery everything would be separated between Negroes and whites. If everything was separated some of the younger children might not have had met their best friend. Skin color shouldn't matter, or really anything else as long as they’re a good person on the inside. If they are a good person on the inside you should at least try to be friends with them. When slavery was still going on a young girl named Ruby was smart enough to go to a white school. When Ruby got there her dad lost his job because his daughter went to a white school and all of the white people hated their family because of that. When Ruby would show up every day there would be white parents waiting for her and then they would start protesting. Now we try to treat everyone fairly so we can become one big happy country!
The United States lives as one big happy living but in other places there is still slavery going on. There are so many other reasons that im proud of my country but I believe slavery and freedom are the two most important. There may be other people not liking their country but for me, my country is the one of things I am most proud of.
