The Best Book for Middle Schoolers to Read

Authors Note: What if you where brave enough to take your sister's spot in the most devastating games ever? Well Katniss took her sister Prim's spot in The Hunger Games which shows about how much she loves her sister. The Hunger Games teaches lessons about life, shows relation to characters, makes you a better reader, and it's an easy read.


Katniss, a tall lanky brown haired girl, walks into the arena getting ready to fight for her life. The arena is lit up and the bell rings and the competitors take off. The arena is filled with woods, swamps, and many other things. Katniss runs towards the woods and her love, Peeta, runs towards the swamp. The woods are over 5 miles long so Katniss is running and never stops. This is just a short phrase from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins which is about life and death. The Hunger Games is the best book for kids in middle school to read.


The Hunger Games is the best book because it helps you learn new words and become a better reader. In the book there are a few words that I knew and understood while there we still some new words. Leaning new words makes us smarter and sometimes a faster reader because we know new words. With new words we become better learners and with this book we become smarter. This book also always keeps you reading.

Even though this book has new words, it always keeps you reading. The Hunger Games always has suspenseful cliff-hangers at the end of each chapter. The cliff-hangers can make people never stop reading. One of the reasons people can finish the book in less than 48 hours because of the cliff-hangers. It is also, because it’s entertaining and is fun to read. The characters in the book can make it fun to read because as a middle schooler we can relate to them.

The Hunger Games always keeps us reading, but as a middle schoolers we can relate to the characters. Almost all of the characters form alliances in the games and we relate to that because its like friendship and friendship is important. Prim is Katniss’ younger sister and she is 12 which is around middle schoolers age. Katniss goes and risks her life for Prim and most sisters would risk their lives for each other.

The Hunger Games has characters that we can relate to so it is a must read for all middle schoolers. This book has been one of the most popular books in the United States this year and is because it is a different style of a book with relate able characters, always keeps you reading, and helps people become a better reader. The best book for middle schoolers to read is The Hunger Games.
